Jeremy Zimney (1992-1995) was a nine-time letterwinner in Football (3 letters), Basketball (2 letters), and Track and Field (4 letters) and a team captain in all three sports. He was a standout running back/safety for the Riders on the EDC Championship football team in 1994. On the hardwood, he earned 2 varsity letters and earned all-conference honors in 1995. In track and field, he was a four-year varsity contributor and two-year team captain. He was a member of Red River’s 1992 State Championship team, as well EDC Championship teams in 1992 and 1993. Individually, he was the EDC Champion in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles, as well as the state runner-up in both of those events in 1994. In 1995, he was the EDC and State Champion in both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. At the time of graduation, he was the school record holder in the 300m hurdles and the career scoring leader for Red River Boys Track and Field. Following high school, he completed a four-year career at the University of North Dakota, including two years as team captain (1999 and 2000). Competing for UND, he was the NCC Champion in the 400m hurdles in 1999 & 2000, the NCC runner up in the 110m hurdles in 1999 & 2000, a Division II National Qualifier in the 400m hurdles in 1998, 1999, and 2000, as well as the 110m hurdles in 2000. Currently, he holds UND school records in both hurdle events.
